Prior to joining Kroll, Lorna was Founding Director and Leader at Barret Corp Harrington, a company providing professional and reliable building insurance and rebuilding cost valuations across the UK and Europe. Before that, she held positions at Cunningham Lindsey, AIG and Chubb Insurance in various surveying, appraisal and management roles. She started her career as a Lloyds Broker and therefore has a strong understanding of different stakeholder positions within the insurance journey.
Although having valued everything from offices and homes to farms and warehousing, Lorna has always specialized in the reinstatement cost assessment of listed and historic buildings. Notable assessments have included some of the UK’s finest stately homes, churches, university and other educational establishments, as well as large landmark London properties.
After completing B.A.(Hons.) in the History of Art and Architecture from UCL, Lorna moved on to The Courtauld Institute of Art to study M.A. specializing in British and French Art and Architecture. She later completed a post graduate diploma in The Conservation of the Historic Environment (RICS) from The College of Estate Management where her dissertation was entitled ‘Reinstatement Cost Methodology for Historic Buildings’.
Lorna loves musicals and theatre and holds the office of Vice President for The Sevenoaks Players, a community theatre group, who have been performing on stage since 1922. She has also directed, performed various backstage roles and served on various committees over the years.
